In a spaghetti western with northern flare, North Bay playwright Garrett M. Ryan tackles serious themes with a whole lot of humour. This is a PlaySmelter New Works Festival offering at Tamarack.

11AM - Writers' Union Workshop​

Come learn about the Writers' Union of Canada from Chair of the Council, Kim Fahner, and as an added bonus, she'll teach you how to write your own ekphrastic poem!

10AM - Artist-in-Residence Presentation

Come meet playwright, Ian McCormack, one of this year's artists-in-residence, and get a taste of what they've been working on during their residency!

Join us as we wrap up the 2025 Tamarack Festival with good food and good friends. This year's closing reception will feature the musical stylings of last year’s fan favourites, Bella Corda!

 RADICAL ACCESS 

Here at Tamarack, we believe that the arts are for everyone, so if you or someone you know would like to attend an event but cannot afford the cost of a ticket, all they have to do is send an email to tamarackfestival@gmail.com or speak to the folks at the Timmins Museum or Timmins Public Library and we'll set them up with free tickets!

The Tamarack Festival takes place in Treaty 9 territory, on the unceded land of the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation, and Matachewan First Nation, home to many Ojibway, Cree, Oji-Cree, Algonquin and Métis people.
